So why are we prepared to spend thousands of pounds on new computers, phones and training to try to give our company the edge over it's competitors and then insist that our staff try to perform to their maximum whilst running with sweat and getting more and more irritable? This, of course, is not just a summer problem. In the winter all the windows get closed, the heating goes on full tilt and the humidity goes through the roof, evidenced by the constantly steamed up windows.

Although there is a legal minimum temperature for the workplace, there is ,at the moment, no maximum. This will probably change in the future following the 2003 paper from the hsc. However, even now,  the law states that working temperatures within buildings should be reasonable. It is generally accepted the range of acceptable temperature is 16c to 30c and that is likely to become the legal requirement. In reality, your staffs' performance will begin to suffer when it goes over 25c, This is due to the high humidity levels that accompany these temperatures in the office environment.

Offices & Work Place Solutions

We can install air conditioning in most offices for a lot less than you probably think and the units we use are able to heat your office as well (heat pumps) they attract enhanced capital allowance from the Inland Revenue. The total cost can be reclaimed against tax in the first year.
